QUALIFICATIONS

My qualifications:
  • I  have served on the school board since September 2021.
  • I have over 40 years’ experience as a teacher and administrator in three different school districts in Wisconsin and one in North Carolina.
  • I have been a teacher, a program manager, a transition specialist, and an administrator. 
  • I have overseen large budgets ($300,000-$500,000) as the Transition Specialist and coordinator of a diploma track in NC.
    • Occupational Course of Study (A diploma track for students with disabilities)
  • I have observed the Beloit Board of Education for nearly two years.
  • I served on the League of Women Voters' Education Study Committee. 
  • I worked with businesses, agencies and school districts in Rock County for career/job development for students, including:
    • Reality Store
    • Amazing Race for Employment
    • Job Olympics
    • Community Conversation on employment and transportation
    • Business tours
    • Work experiences: Job Shadowing, Work Skills, Work Experience
    •  College tours: BTC, UW-Rock, UW-Whitewater, etc.
    • Project SEARCH®
  • I have written, received and administered numerous grants in Beloit, including:
    • Employment First,
    • Transition Improvement Grant, and 
    • Graduation Rate Improvement Plan Grant.
  • I have worked closely with the Departments of Public Instruction in Wisconsin and North Carolina
Community Involvement:
  • Mercyhealth Janesville Project SEARCH® Steering Committee, (former Chair)
  • Aging and Disabilities Resource Center of Rock County's Advisory Board, 
  • Docent and Board member of the Friends of Beckman Mill,  
  • Deacon at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 
  • Creation Care, committee for Province V of the Episcopal Church,
